Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP)
Free breast and cervical cancer screening, mammograms, and follow-up services are available for income-eligible women age 50 and above, and also to symptomatic women below the age of 50.
Care Coordination for Children (CC4C)
This at-risk population management program focuses on improving health outcomes while reducing Medicaid costs for children from birth to five years of age. The goal of CC4C is to improve care by linking the child and family to services that will meet their specific needs.
Child Health Clinic
Well-child assessments, sick care visits, Pre-K and kindergarten assessments, daycare physicals, and sports physicals are provided at the Health Department by pediatricians from ECU Pediatrics.
Communicable Disease Program
This program works to control the spread of communicable diseases in the community, detect cases of communicable disease, and monitor for the occurrence of new cases.
A variety of basic health services are provided, including pregnancy testing, immunizations (children and adults), and STD and communicable disease testing.
Obstetrics Care Management (OBCM)
The goal of the OBCM program is to ensure a healthy, full-term pregnancy for Medicaid-eligible, high-risk prenatal patients.
Free screenings and treatments are provided, including: medical history, physical examination, laboratory testing, treatment, counseling, and any referrals for sexually transmitted infections.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
WIC is a federal nutrition program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The WIC program provides healthy supplemental foods for pregnant women, postpartum women, breastfeeding women, infants and children up until the age of 5 who meet the eligibility requirements for the program. Program services include nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion, breastfeeding education and support, referrals to human service organizations and referrals for health care.
Women’s Health Clinic
Nurses and nurse practitioners provide breast exams; pap smears; pregnancy, STD and HIV testing; and education regarding available contraceptive methods, including emergency contraception, or other pertinent reproductive issues. We are also able to insert and remove Nexplanons and IUDs in the clinic.
